Oaks at La Paloma treatment center celebrates years of service

Local News

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – It’s a major milestone for a city staple known to be place of healing. The Oaks at La Paloma addiction treatment facility is celebrating years of service in its century-old building.

The facility was first built in 1919 to house the crippled children’s hospital, treating those suffering from polio.

Organizers say the work to save lives never left the building. They stress there are so many people suffering from the opioid crisis in Memphis, and many aren’t even aware that there is treatment available right in their back yard.
