Ole Miss students are expecting the Rebels to beat the Memphis Tigers in Saturday’s big football game

OXFORD, Miss. (localmemphis.com) – Ole Miss players and fans are gearing up for the Ole Miss-Memphis game this Saturday. On the Ole Miss campus, students say they are ready for this weekend.

“I’m really excited for the game. A lot of my friends go to Memphis, and there is kind of like this unsaid rivalry just because we are so close I think,” said Ole Miss student Zoe Storck.

“I think the football game coming up is going to be excellent, and I can’t wait to see us play,” said student Prynce Bob.

Memphis hasn’t beat Ole Miss in the match up since 2015, so it’s no surprise when it comes to predictions which team the folks in Oxford think will win.

“I just really feel like we have more talent across the board, so I believe we are going to win,” said Brandon Pierre.

“I am going to be in the square watching the game live on ABC, and we are going to tear Memphis up,” said Tristen Welch.

“Memphis has a good team they are good, and it’s going to be tough going into their environment,” said Max Hansborgh.

While many Ole Miss students plan on making the drive to Memphis, others say they will be  watching the game on TV.

“Since it’s Labor Day weekend, I think I’m going to go to the lake this weekend, so I’ll be hanging out there. So I’ll watch it on TV, I guess,” said Catelyn Haberstorh.

“I think I am going to watch the game this weekend for sure. I’m a freshman, so it will be my first time seeing the atmosphere here,” Brandon Sukenik said.

“I’m just ready for the excitement, the people. Just to be around the crowd, the energy, the vibe and for us to win,” said Miracle Harris.
