Not only did Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr preach non-violence he also said we should all lend a helping hand to those in need.
To continue his dream you have a chance to do just that during the 2018 MLK Days of Service.
Volunteer Memphis is partnering with the National Civil Rights Museum and the United Way in organizing 5-hundred community service projects.
Organizers say it’s a great way to give back to the community and all you have to do is sign up and show up.
“MLK Day weekend is a great day to have a day on instead of taking the day off on Monday take an opportunity to get out and serve your community,” says Jared Bulluck of Leadership Memphis. “Help the needy, help your community to be a better place for Memphis.”
Many of the projects will happen indoors at schools and local libraries.
