MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) - A Memphis treasure that's been entertaining crowds for decades is on the move. The Orpheum packed up its historic "Mighty Wurlitzer" organ Thursday and shipped it to Chicago.
Thanks to a gift from the Plough Foundation, along with donations from the community, the 90-year-old organ is getting a complete rebuild.
It is one of only 12 in the world that remains where it was originally installed.
The organ is set to return in the fall of 2019.
Memphis Police are investigating a deadly shooting in Hickory Hill.
