Postal Service Supervisor Shot While Delivering Mail

Local News

The United States Postal Service is offering a $50,000 reward for any information that could lead to an arrest after a Postal Service Supervisor was shot at three times Tuesday morning in Frayser.

The incident took place around near the intersection of Overton Crossing and Frayser Boulevard. Postal Inspector Gregory Newberry says this supervisor was assisting a letter carrier on their route when the shooting happened. They say the victim was in his personal vehicle when four guys pulled up beside him in another vehicle and opened fire.

The men were in a light color 4-door Mitsubishi Galant or Acura TL. The Postal Service Supervisor was shot in the leg and taken to Regional One, where he is expected to be okay.

“It is pretty random, we haven’t determined what the motive is yet, but I would say this is a random occurrence,” said Inspector Newberry.

Anyone with information call the US Postal Service 877-876-2455 or Memphis Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH (2274).
