MEMPHIS, Tenn (localmemphis.com) - Although it felt more like winter than spring on Sunday, hundreds of people went downtown to get their crawfish fix at the Rajun Cajun Crawfish Festival.
The festival is in its 26th year.
17,000 pounds of fresh Louisiana crawfish was boiled, meaning thousands of buckets of mudbugs.
Along with the food, there was plenty of music and a gumbo cook-off competition.
Attendee, Cora Clark, said she didn't care how cold it was, she had to get some crawfish, "I love those mudbugs! (Reporter: "So you don't care that the wind chill is 20 degrees?") No! I don't care, I love em. I'm gonna come out here and get me some!"
The festival supports free programs and services that help Porter Leath's mission of helping Mid-South families achieve healthy lifestyles.
