Residents Concerned About Rodent Problems At Pendleton Place Apartments

Local News

Pendleton Place, an apartment complex that’s had a history of issues in Orange Mound is getting a much needed face-lift.

Residents called Local 24 News complaining about no heat and rodents at Pendleton Place Apartments.  Monroe Group, LTD bought the complex back in August and says it was in awful shape.

The company is now in the process of renovating and a spokesperson says the heating issues are fixed, but admits there is still a rodent problem.

Residents just want them gone.

“You’ve got like mold. I’ve been up since yesterday, over 24 hours, talking to mice and trying to catch mice in my apartment and I know that seems crazy, but I think I just had a mental break,” said Shannon Washington, who lives at Pendleton Place Apartments.

Local 24 News got in touch with a spokesperson at Monroe Group.

“What we’re doing is we have placed traps for rodents as well as we’ve done pest control in the units. Our foremost and the thing that’s most important to us that our residents have a healthy and safe place to live,” said Lynn Haner, Communications Manager.

There are 120 units on the property.  City of Memphis code enforcement officers did not issue any violations Monday.
