MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) - Wednesday, we told you that each year more than 20,000 drivers take to the roads of Shelby County without a driver’s license. Restoration Saturday will give those drivers and others an opportunity to get back in compliance with the law this weekend.
It's a first-ever event organized by the Shelby County District Attorney's office and local church leaders.
Representatives from the Department of Safety-Maximus, General Sessions Court Clerk, and Memphis City Clerk's offices will also be on hand to work through expungement issues.
D.A. Amy Weirich says don't worry, no arrests will be made.
"We're not looking for business on a Saturday. We've got more business around here than we know what to deal with,” said Weirich. “This is purely an opportunity for us to answer questions, provide help, and get people started on the road to expungement, getting their driver’s license and getting child support issues squared away."
Restoration Saturday Jun 23rd runs from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. CLICK HERE for locations and more information.
