Covington police are looking for at least two shooters they say riddled a house with dozens of bullets Wednesday night and injured four people.
Police Chief Buddy Lewis said a little after 9:00 p.m., someone with a rifle and handgun fired more than 40 shots into the home in the 500 block of North College Street. Some of the bullets went through a house next door.
Three men and a 14-year-old boy were hit but authorities said all will be okay.
Investigators said they’ve made drug arrests in the house before and said the shooting may have been retaliation for another shooting this past weekend in Tipton County.
Detectives spent the day tracking down persons of interest, but there have been no arrests yet.
“We are going to continue to work hard, we are going to spend a lot of manhours, we are going to spend a lot of overtime doing what we need to be doing to make this safe and we are going to continue to do our job and do it well,” said Chief Lewis.
If you have any information on this shooting which can help police, call Crime Stoppers of Tipton County at 901-475-3300.
