MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) - The Shelby County primary results are in, and two challengers are set for the August race for Shelby County Trustee.
The Republican nomination goes to current Shelby County Commissioner George Chism, who beat out Dexter Orman.
The Democratic nomination goes to former interim county trustee & deputy Memphis City Attorney Regina Morrison Newman, who beat out Derrick Bennett and former MLGW CEO Joseph Lee III.
The seat is currently held Republican David Lenoir, who is running for the GOP nod for Shelby County Mayor.
The Shelby County general election is set for August 2nd.
