MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – Southern Reigns Center for Equine Therapy cut the ribbon Thursday on a new learning center and arena at its farm in Collierville.
Southern Reigns provides horse-assisted therapy to people with disabilities of all types, including physical, cognitive, and emotional.
The new center includes a new classroom with an ADA restroom, as well as a new outdoor area that can be used to provide hands-on interactions with up to four horses.
“Our focus is on the ability of every participant here. Our goal is to teach riding skills. We are trying to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities,” says Jill Haag, Executive Director of Southern Reigns. “It’s very rewarding to get to do what we do every day, and we get to meet some very inspirational people.”
Southern Reigns says it helps more than 200 people each year.
