Suspect arrested, accused of trying to run over Southaven officer while in a stolen vehicle

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. (localmemphis.com)- UPDATE: 11/18/2019 – Southaven Police say 31-year-old Kendrick Bowden has been arrested and charged.

Police say Bowden was located about 11:00 a.m. Monday on McKenzie Cove in Memphis. He is now charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, felony fleeing, and receiving stolen property. He also faces additional charges in Memphis.

Police say the stolen car Bowden was driving has not yet been found.

11/16/2019 – Southaven police are looking for a suspect, and possible accomplices accused of trying to run over one of its officers in a stolen vehicle.

Police say the incident happened around 2:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon at the intersection of Getwell and Central Parkway.

Investigators say the vehicle, a 2015, tan colored Ford Fusion was reported stolen.  The car’s tag number is 3N44H9.

Police say others were inside of the vehicle and during the traffic stop and shots were fired.

No one was injured. 

Police believe the suspects escaped into Memphis.
