Three Arrested So Far After Police Say People On Dirt Bikes & ATVs Vandalized Tom Lee Park

Local News

Three people have been arrested, and the search is on for more, after a group of people on motorcycles and 4-wheelers vandalized Tom Lee Park.

It happened about 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the area of Riverside and Beale at Tom Lee Park. Police found a large group of motorcyclists and people on ATVs driving recklessly and tearing up the turf at Tom Lee Park. The damage is estimated to be about $3,500.

George Joy

Three people have been arrested. According to police records, George Joy tried to maneuver around responding officers at a gas station in the 400 block of North Main, as the officers tried to block the riders in. They say Joy tried to drive between squad cars, hitting them with the ATV and causing damage to the cars.

They say Joy took off but was caught. They say arresting officers found marijuana in his pocket. Joy is charged with reckless driving, evading arrest, resisting arrest, vandalism, and possession.

Precious Ballentine

Police say Precious Ballentine was arrested after officers were able to single her out on a dirt bike, which they say had no license plate or lights of any kind. She was taken into custody after a traffic stop at Danny Thomas and Crump. Ballentine is charged with reckless driving, no driver’s license, financial responsibility, and violation of vehicle registration.

Angelica Deener

Police say Angelica Deener was in a Chevrolet Tahoe, blocking officers from conducting traffic stops of bikes and ATVs at B.B. King and Beale Alley. They say she then arrived at the traffic stop at Danny Thomas and Crump, interfering with officers and calling for other dirt bikes and ATVs to come to the area.

Police say when an officer asked Deener for her license, she refused, telling the officer he had no right to pull her over. The officer asked her to get out of the SUV, and that’s when police say she tried to pull away. Another officer at the scene took her into custody. Police say they later found marijuana in her SUV. Deener is charged with disorderly conduct, possession, no driver’s license, and financial responsibility.

According to the affidavits, police say the dirt bikes and ATVs have been a problem for months in that area. They are still searching for several others and expect more arrests. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.
