The University of Memphis Tigers were dubbed West Division Champions after beating SMU 66-45 on Saturday afternoon at the Liberty Bowl.
This is the Tigers’ first division championship and first trip to the American Athletic Conference Championship game.
Saturday’s game at the Liberty Bowl had about an hour lightning delay halfway through, but nothing was more electric than a Memphis offense accounting for 664 yards of total offense and a school record 7 rushing touchdowns.
The American Athletic Conference Championship is set for Saturday December 2 at 11:00 a.m. It will air on Local24.
The Tigers will face the winner of unbeaten Central Florida and South Florida.
