Investigation underway into school bus crash Tuesday morning

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – UPDATE: 2:20 p.m. – While Memphis Police tell Local 24 News no students were injured in Tuesday morning’s school bus crash, Shelby County Schools says otherwise.

SCS says 10 students from Magnolia Elementary were on board at the time, and five of those were taken to the hospital.

SCS says the crash was the result of a hit and run.

FROM SCS: “Our Family and Community Engagement team is supporting all students and families involved. Additional questions about the accident should be referred to MPD.”

11:30 a.m. Memphis Police say two adults were injured in a school bus crash Tuesday morning.

It happened about 8:00 a.m. at Lowell Avenue and Airways. Details on what led to the crash have not been released.

Memphis Police say no children were injured. The bus driver and another adult were taken to the hospital in non-critical condition.
