Two arrested in connection with basketball court shooting behind police station

Local News

MEMPHIS, Tenn. ( – Police have made two arrests in connection to a basketball court shooting behind an MPD precinct.

Shadarra Bowles, 23, is accused of knowingly helping another person commit a crime. Lashaniqua Jones, 24, is charged with accessory after the fact.

The shooting happened last month behind the Mount Moriah police precinct following an argument. Officials say surveillance video showed Bowles pulling out a gun from her waistband and handing it to one of the gunmen.

Police say Jones lied to investigators, claiming Bowles was not inside her apartment when officers arrived to arrest her. They say Jones told them they could not search without a warrant, and insisted Bowles was not there. But investigators say when officers knocked again, Bowles came out and was arrested.

Bond was set at $30,000 for Bowles, and at $5,000 for Jones.
