MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com)– Local 24 Cares is a proud sponsor of the United Way’s 95th anniversary celebration.

The United Way is known for helping Mid-Southerners in need, but Friday night it was Mid-Southerners who offered support.

The United Way of the Mid-South celebrated 95 years of service to the community with a big party in downtown Memphis at The Columns. There was plenty of entertainment by Carla Thomas, The Barkays, and Boo and Oona Mitchell of Royal Studios. Food was provided by chef Kelly English of Iris.

Local 24 news anchor Katina Rankin was the emcee of the event along with president and CEO of United Way, Dr. Kenneth Robinson.
