Warrant Issued For Kidnapping suspect, Man Last Seen In East Memphis

Local News

Memphis Police are still actively searching for a man who was kidnapped from East Memphis Thursday afternoon.

A Citywatch has been issued for Luis Santiago Memphis Police say his wife walked into the Raines Police Station and told investigators two males kidnapped them on New Willow.  His wife was able to escape.

Memphis Police has an active warrant out for one of the suspects, 17 year old, Kevvon Clark. Clark is charged with Aggravated Robbery and Aggravated Kidnapping. Clark is considered armed.

The second suspect is a black male, 5’10, medium build, 135 pounds with dreds.

Local 24 talked to Santiago’s friend, James Kenny, who says he saw the couple get into a white Chevy pickup truck parked in his driveway Thursday afternoon. Kenny says the couple knew one of two men inside of the truck.

“I seen him come out the yard and his truck was parked in my driveway and I saw them get in,” Kenny explained.

Investigators went back to the neighborhood Friday to ask people if they saw Santiago or knew anything.  Kenny says the couple was hanging out at his house before they disappeared.

Santiago’s wife told investigators that the suspects forced them into the truck at gunpoint.

“She was over here last night with the police she told me she wasn’t coming back over here because she was scared for her life,” Kenny said.

Memphis Police confirm Santiago’s wife was assaulted by one of the suspects and she was able to escape.

Police sent a BOLO for a white Chevy Pickup truck with a camper on the back.  The truck has a TN tag of 3A93B3.  People who live in the neighborhood hope Santiago is safe.

“It’s scary because we don’t know where he might be. I’ve never seen the person before over here,” Jaquana Benley.

Santiago’s friend is hoping nothing bad happened to him.

“I hope not. I hope not because he was a good person,” Kenny said.
