MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) –  400 years ago, on August 20, 1619, the first group of African captives arrived in Jamestown, on what experts say planted the seeds for the American slave trade.

Local 24 News photographer Kat Terry spoke with Elaine Lee Turner, Director of the Slave Haven Underground Railroad Museum in north Memphis.
