Treadwell Middle School received a face lift to the front entrance of the school Friday afternoon. Local architecture and interior design firm HBG Design recently partnered with community organization The Heights CDC to make the redesign possible.
Volunteers with HBG spent Friday afternoon installing custom-made planters and benches in front of the school as well as painting a colorful mural over the front door entrance.
HBG Design Administrator Bobbi Jo Riley said, “We hope that they feel as much love as we do for this community when they come in and for this school. We’ve really grown to love this community and this school and every kid is important and we just want them to feel that way.”
The project is said to be complete by the end of the weekend. How will students react? We’ll find out soon as the first day of school in Shelby County is this coming Monday.
