Woman Injured In Binghampton Apartment Fire

A woman is recovering from smoke inhalation after an apartment fire in Binghampton Sunday.

The fire happened on Waynoka Avenue near Tilllman Street and Walnut Grove Road around 6:30 a.m. Firefighters brought the fire under control in 15 minutes.

A woman was found unresponsive in the bedroom. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition for smoke inhalation. 

The American Red Cross is assisting four families displaced by the fire. Total Damages are estimated at $30,000.

Investigators say the fire’s cause is inconclusive, and it remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 528-CASH (2274) or the State Arson Hotline at 1-800-762-3017.
