MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – The distillers behind Monkey Shoulder scotch made quite the impression Thursday afternoon in east Memphis. They pulled up in “The Monkey Mixer.” The 27-foot cocktail mixer is the biggest in the world. It can hold 123,000 bottles of liquor and has a sound system that pumps out more than 2,000 watts.
“The reactions are all over the board. We get people that are driving next to me with their cellphones out. I get people that honk the horn. I think at the end of the day we did what we wanted to do. We wanted to draw attention to our brand, and we think that Monkey Shoulder Monkey Mixer is actually doing what it’s supposed to do. So, as I’m going down the road or I’m going city to city, people are seeing it. People want to know what it is, and we think that’s a huge thing for us,” said Jeff Shafer, tour manager for The Monkey Mixer.
The monkey mixer is here to help promote Owen Brennan’s happy hour this Sunday from 11am to 1pm. The event is free to the public and will feature three signature Monkey Shoulder cocktails.
