Mid-South schools are ready for the new school year, but some are still finishing up construction

BARTLETT, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – Bartlett High School is currently under renovation, but the classrooms and common areas for the students will be ready by Monday, August 12.

The high school hosted its “B Ready Day” Tuesday as a preparation day for the first day back to school. Parents and students were concerned when they saw the classrooms weren’t numbered yet, and there was still dust from construction.

Bartlett City Schools released a statement Monday that said, “Pardon our dust as we make the final push before our ‘B Ready Day’ on Tuesday, August 6th and our first day of classes on Monday, August 12th. Please realize there is still work to be completed prior to the first day of school and we wanted to keep our ‘Be Ready Day’ as scheduled even with the areas that are still being finished.”

Jason Sykes, Communications, Volunteer & Outreach Coordinator for Bartlett City Schools, said the construction for renovations is still on track and will be finished by August, 2020.

“This is still an ongoing project, and it won’t be completed in in finality until next year at this time. So, there will be some minor adjustments that need to be made,” Sykes said. “The primary goal is to have a safe learning environment for the students and a secure campus.”

Here’s a list of upcoming dates for back to school:
