Mississippi primaries: Race for Governor – Republican nomination

News

(localmemphis.com) – It looks like it’ll be a runoff in the Republican primary for Mississippi Governor.

Lieutenant Governor Tate Reeves will face former Mississippi Supreme Court Chief Justice Bill Waller Jr. Reeves had the most votes, but did not break the 50% plus one threshold to avoid a runoff.

State Representative Robert Foster of Hernando conceded the race after falling in third.

Current Governor Phil Bryant is headed to forced retirement due to term limits.
