How can you not smile looking at this? Two toddlers meeting up on a sidewalk in New York and sharing a big hug. The boys are barely two years old and have known each other for a little more than a year.
One of the dads later told the local news he pulled out his cell phone when the boys started running for each other. He said he usually doesn’t post private things on Facebook, but he made an exception because of all the racial tensions these days.
He said, “The reason it’s getting attention is because it is with a little black boy and a little white boy, and if it can change someone’s mind or their view on things, then it’s totally worth it.”
Toddlers don’t yet see color, and it’s an innocent, wonderful, unstaged moment. But I say the parents deserve credit too. They are old enough to see color, yet they set the example by choosing to be good friends themselves. Kids absolutely learn from their parents.
