Nike, Adidas, and Converse join more than 200 footwear companies ask President Trump to cancel tariffs

National News

CNN Newsource – Footwear companies are urging President Trump to scrap his new tariffs on Chinese imports, including shoes. More than 200 companies, including Nike, Converse, and Adidas, sent him a letter Wednesday.

It says the tariffs will amount to a hidden tax on Americans.

The leader of an industry association says the tariffs will not only lead to higher prices for consumers, but they will also affect American jobs and growth in those companies.

Last week Trump said he would increase tariffs on $300 billion worth of Chinese imports.

The tariffs are set to kick in Sunday, but most products will not be affected until mid-December.
