NASHVILLE, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – Governor Bill Lee is facing praise and backlash for asking Tennesseans to pray and fast alongside him and the first lady this week.
Governor Lee signed a proclamation declaring Thursday a statewide voluntary day of prayer, humility, and fasting.
The proclamation reads in part, “The people in Tennessee acknowledge our rich blessings, our deep transgressions, and the need to give thanks to God almighty.”
Some people say the day of prayer is needed, but others think Lee should not push his Christian views on the entire state. We want to know what you think. Join the conversation on the Local Memphis Facebook page.
