MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – Memphis Grizzlies’ Jaren Jackson Junior made a guest appearance Wednesday at the first-ever Nike all-girls summer basketball camp at Independent Presbyterian Church.
Jaren is the face of the Memphis Grizzlies now that Marc Gasol and Mike Conley are gone.
Mike, who’s now a member of the Utah Jazz, gave Jaren a vote of confidence and passed the torch to the young player.
“I mean that’s, that’s words coming from big chief right there, that’s Mike,” said Jaren. “So, um that just means he’s instilling confidence in me that I can go out there and do my job every day, whatever that is. You know I’m able to do whatever the coach needs. You know we’ve got a new coach, coach Taylor, my guy, but whatever he needs, whatever we need to do to win, I’m going to do.”
