(MEMPHIS REDBIRDS NEWS RELEASE) – The 2020 St. Louis Cardinals Caravan, presented by Missouri Farm Bureau Insurance, will visit Memphis on Friday, Jan. 17. Current players Jack Flaherty, Randy Arozarena, Tyler Webb and Justin Williams are scheduled to visit along with former players Bo Hart and Scott Terry.
All current and past players in attendance will be available for autographs during both events hosted by the Memphis Redbirds.
An exclusive luncheon, presented by XMC Inc., will be held at 12 p.m. in the Home Plate Club on the second level of AutoZone Park. The luncheon will consist of a question-and-answer session followed by an autograph session for all attendees. Tickets to the luncheon cost $25 and are available for purchase at www.memphisredbirds.com/cardinalscaravan.
The evening event is free to attend and will also consist of question-and-answer session followed by an autograph session. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open at 6 p.m. As in previous years, the Cardinals will implement an autograph ticket system for the Caravan program. Due to high demand, autographs will only be available for children ages 15 and under during the evening event. The first 400 children will receive a free ticket which guarantees one autograph from each current and former player.
During both events the programming will be emceed by broadcaster Tom Ackerman.
Starting pitcher, Flaherty is coming off a hot season where he won back-to-back National League Pitcher of the Month in August and September. He completed the 2019 season with an 11-8 record and a 2.75 ERA and was nominated for a Golden Glove and finished fourth in votes for the National League Cy Young Award.
Arozarena spent parts of the 2019 season with the Springfield Cardinals (AA) and the Memphis Redbirds (AAA) and made his Major League debut on August 14, 2019. Webb also spent time in both Memphis in 2019. Through 65 appearances and 55 innings pitched with the Cardinals, he went 2-1 with a 3.76 ERA, tallying 48 strikeouts. During Williams time in Memphis last year he held a .353 batting average and a .437 OBP.
In addition to a question-and-answer session and autographs for kids, there is also scheduled to be a raffle Friday night, and local Cardinals Radio Network affiliate ESPN Radio 92.9 FM will be on-site.
