(PGA TOUR NEWS RELEASE) – Current World No. 1 Brooks Koepka is the latest star to join the field for the World Golf Championships-FedEx St. Jude Invitational, July 24-28 at TPC Southwind, tournament officials announced Tuesday. Six of the top-10 in the Official World Golf Rankings have already committed to the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational with Koepka joining Dustin Johnson (No. 2), Justin Rose (No. 4), Bryson DeChambeau (No. 8), Patrick Cantlay (No. 9), and Xander Schauffele (No. 10).

“It’s always a great spot to go back to. It’s a place that I hold dear to my heart,” Koepka said. “It’s a special place, everything that St. Jude does for the kids, and to be able to go to the hospital and spend time with them, it’s incredible to see the smiles on their faces especially through what they’re going through. It’s something I always look forward to – playing and going to the city of Memphis every year.”

Koepka rose to No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking for the first time in his career in October after following up his 2018 PGA TOUR Player of the Year honors with a victory in his first start of the 2018-19 PGA TOUR Season at THE CJ CUP @ NINE BRIDGES. The six-time PGA TOUR winner has since added a victory at the 2019 PGA Championship as well as runner-up finishes at The Masters Tournament and U.S. Open and is currently No. 2 in the FedExCup standings. The 2018 PGA TOUR Player of the Year has made five prior appearances in Memphis and has never missed the cut with a T2 in 2016 as his best finish.

Tommy Fleetwood, who qualified for the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational after earning his way onto the European Ryder Cup Team in 2018, has committed to make his first career start in Memphis. Fleetwood, the No. 20 ranked player in the world, has made 13 starts on the PGA TOUR this season with 13 made cuts, including four top-10s. Fleetwood has four career victories on the European Tour and won the 2017 Race to Dubai. He also starred on the European Ryder Cup Team in 2018, partnering with Francesco Molinari to become the first duo ever to win all four of their team matches on the way to a European victory.
