MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – It’s a big week for a local high school football team. Evangelical Christian School (ECS) is gearing up for their shot to win a state championship.

ECS rallied up school support Wednesday before players boarded the bus to the state championships in Cookville. They are on the only local team to make it the championship game this year.

Head coach Trey Adams says they never would have made it this far if it wasn’t for the seniors on the team.

“Super proud of the seniors. Senior Leadership, the way they’ve bought in to what we’re doing around here as a school and a community. They’re great ambassadors on and off the field,” said Adams.

ECS will take on CPA, a school out of Nashville, for the Division II A championship Thursday.
