MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – The Memphis Tigers are going green during football season.
Thanks to a grant from the university’s Green Fee allocation, recycling bins will be offered in tailgate locations at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium.
The grant came after three U of M students submitted a proposal to add the service in the fall.
During a normal home game, there is enough trash to fill two 30-yard dumpster bins. The grant provides 50 recycling bins, trash bags, and any additional products needed to move the recyclables.
Aluminum cans, plastic bottles, paper, and cardboard will all be accepted for recycling.
