WILMINGTON, North Carolina (WDTN) - The first deaths of Hurricane Florence were confirmed Friday.
Wilmington Police responded to a report of a tree that fell onto a house on Mercer Avenue.
A mother and infant were inside the home at the time and have died.
The infant's father was transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center with unknown injuries.
Wilmington PD confirmed the deaths via Twitter Friday afternoon:
