Woman found dead in home after shots fired outside

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman is dead after being shot while inside a home in North Memphis.

Memphis police said the shooting happened around 8:10 p.m. Wednesday in the 800 block of Crockett.

Officers believe the shots were fired from outside the home and hit the woman who was inside. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

On 10/6 at 8:11 pm, officers responded to a shooting at 829 Crockett. A female victim was located in the residence suffering from a GSW and pronounced dead. Prelim info indicates that the shots came from outside the residence.
