MEMPHIS, Tenn — GXO Logistics Supply Chain has filed notice that it intends to layoff more than 200 workers in Memphis.
In a WARN letter (Workers Adjustment and Retraining Notification) dated Jan. 10, 2024, the company told the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development that beginning March 6, 211 employees will be affected by the “permanent layoff” at the facility at 4795 Imagination Dr.
“We’re ending operations with one of our customers in the Memphis, TN area. As a result, impacted employees will have the opportunity to apply for open roles and transfer to nearby GXO sites that serve other customers,” a GXO spokesperson told ABC24.
GXO said the Greater Memphis Local Workforce Development Area rapid response team has been notified to assist affected employees.
