3 charged in northeast Memphis boxcar burglary

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man and two teens are facing charges after a boxcar burglary occurred early Thursday morning in northeast Memphis. 

The Memphis Police Department responded to the burglary around 2:30 a.m. in the 3800 block of Grey Road near the railroad tracks after someone told them that suspects were loading items into vehicles.

When officers arrived, they saw merchandise in a neighborhood yard and two people in a vehicle. The suspects ran away.

After searching the area, police found three suspects and took them into custody. Officers also recovered items from two vehicles that were used in the burglary. 

Police said 18-year-old Jesse Donato was charged with burglary, theft of property $10,000-$60,000, and destroying/interfering with a utility line.

A 17-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl were also charged with burglary, theft of property $10,000-$60,000, and destroying/interfering with a utility line, police said.
