Christopher Columbus statue in Marquette Park in East Memphis vandalized again

First vandalism complaint to the Memphis Police Department came June 24, 2020

MEMPHIS, Tennessee — For the second time in as many weeks, the statue of Christopher Columbus in Marquette Park in east Memphis has been vandalized.

According to the Memphis Police Department, “black rubber paint” was used to vandalize the statue.

A motive was not given in either vandalism call.
