Man charged for 2023 quadruple homicide, Tunica County Sheriff's Office says

TUNICA COUNTY, Miss — A man is facing charges over an incident in 2023 that involved the shooting death of four people and a car crash that killed one on Nov. 10,2023 in Robinsonville, Mississippi. 

The Tunica County Sheriff's Office said that Anthony Carter, 20, has been charged with four counts of capital murder, four counts of conspiracy to commit a crime, one count of a drive-by shooting and one count of shooting into a motor vehicle.

There is also a drive-by shooting and attempted murder that Carter is being charged with, according to the Tunica County Sheriff's Office. They said this took place on Oct. 26, 2023 in the White Oak Community. 

Additionally, the sheriff's office announced that Carter is being charged for a drive-by shooting in the White Oak Community that reportedly took place on April 4, 2023. 

Carter is also being held for his recent arrest regarding possession of a controlled substance, possession of firearms and contributing to the delinquency of one or more minors after search warrant was served on April, 1, 2024, according to the sheriff's office. 

Multiple firearms were found in Carter's vehicle on this day, according to the Tunica County Sheriff's Office.

Another man, Deonte Taylor, remains in custody at the Tunica County Jail for charges that are related to the quadruple homicide on Nov. 10, 2023. 

Taylor is charged with three counts of capital murder, four counts of shooting into a motor vehicle and four counts of conspiracy to commit a crime, according to the sheriff's office.

Capital murder is punishable by life in prison or the death penalty in Mississippi, according to the Tunica County Sheriff's Office. 

Additional charges are to follow as well as more arrests, according to the sheriff's office.
