MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man and woman are now dead, and a child was rushed to the hospital after a shooting happened Monday afternoon in South Memphis, not far from another deadly shooting a little more than an hour earlier.
The Memphis Police Department responded to the shooting April 8 around 12:30 p.m. in the area of Crump Boulevard and Mississippi Boulevard, where officers found three victims.
Investigators said one man was pronounced dead at the scene. A 36-year-old woman was taken to Regional One Health in critical condition, and a 2-year-old was taken to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in critical condition.
In an update Tuesday morning, police said the woman died Monday night at the hospital. The 2-year-old is still in critical condition.
The investigation is ongoing.

The tragedy took place near another shooting that occurred at Danny Thomas Boulevard and Mississippi Boulevard, where officers found a man around 11 a.m. who was seriously injured and later pronounced dead at Regional One.
