MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – A Memphis man is charged after police say he made up a story abouta carjacking to cover up an affair.
Anthony Thomas is charged with false reporting. According to thepolice affidavit, Thomas called police about 4:40 a.m. Monday claiming to havebeen carjacked by two men on Barnstable Street.
When officers ran Thomas’ license plate, they found the vehiclehad been towed hours earlier from a location on Summer Avenue.
During questioning, police say Thomas admitted to lying about thecarjacking, saying he “did not want his wife to learn about his infidelity.”
