MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police said a man has been charged after a woman was shot near Parkway Village and later died.
MPD officers responded to the shooting about 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2024, at 4300 American Way, not far from Cherry Rd. They found a woman shot, and she was taken to Regional One in critical condition.
Later, MPD said she died.
Investigators have not said what led to the shooting.
Around 7 p.m., MPD released a photo of the man charged in the shooting, 38-year-old Dewayne Carr. He was charged with first-degree murder and convicted felon in possession of a handgun, police said.
