A Grahamwood man is charged with attempted murder after Memphis police say he raped and stabbed his next-door neighbor, even pouring roach spray down her throat.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – A Grahamwood man is charged with attempted murder after Memphis police say he raped and stabbed his next-door neighbor, even pouring roach spray down her throat.

Memphis police say 58-year-old Norman Hudson forced himself into the victim’s home, grabbed a knife, then raped and stabbed her. According to an affidavit, Hudson left with her bank card and PIN, then stole money from her account.

Local 24 News went to the suspect’s home Friday, but no one answered the door.

However, a woman across the street has seen Hudson often and identified him as the same Norman Hudson who pastors Do You Believe Outreach Ministry. She’s seen Hudson in a suit carrying his Bible and never expected him to snap.

Another woman, who has visited his church before, told Local 24 News off camera that she’s sickened by the allegations against Pastor Norman, adding there haven’t been any services for the past two Sundays.

Hudson has a laundry list of charges dating back to the 90s, including passing bad checks, assault, and especially aggravated robbery.

The woman was taken to the hospital, where she underwent surgery.

Hudson is charged with attempted murder, especially aggravated rape, especially aggravated robbery, especially aggravated burglary, especially aggravated kidnapping, and illegal possession/fraudulent use of credit or debit card.
