Man charged in deadly southeast Shelby County shooting, says sheriff's office

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man has been charged in a deadly shooting in southeast Shelby County on April 3.

SCSO deputies responded to the shooting just after 1:30 p.m. in the 4500 block of Jonsey Lane near Forest Mist Dr. They found one man shot, and he was taken to Regional One Hospital in critical condition.

On April 5, the sheriff's office said the man was pronounced dead at the hospital. 

They also said detectives arrested Jordan Underwood, 24, for the murder.

Underwood was charged with first degree murder, prohibited weapon, possession of marijuana with intent, reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, according to the sheriff's office.
