MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – Local Black Lives Matter activist Pamela Moses isn’t giving up onher hope to run for Memphis mayor. She is appealing a judge’s ruling this weekthat she is still on probation.
Moses believes she has completed her sentence. Until it’s complete, she can’t get her citizen rights restored, which would allow her to run for mayor.
Wednesday, Moses went before a different judge. She asked thejudge not to rule on restoring her citizen rights until the appeals court ruleson her sentencing.
It is not expected the appeals court will rule on Moses’case by July 18th, which is the election deadline. That would essentiallymake Moses ineligible to run.
