MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Additional juveniles in state custody at a Memphis Youth Treatment Facility have tested positive for Covid-19 and are now being quarantined.

Last week, the Tennessee Department of Health and the Tennessee National Guard conducted a second mass testing at the Memphis Center for Success and Independence in Bartlett.

Results that came back Saturday, showed an additional 17 teens tested positive for the virus.  45 out of the 48 teens at the facility now have COVID-19, none of them showed symptoms.

13 staff members previously tested positive on April 22.  Of those, six have returned to work.

DCS has notified the parents of the youth who have tested positive.

The juveniles who tested positive this week were separated from the youth who had previously tested positive.  All of the youth are being closely monitored by CSI nursing staff.

The facility offers a residential treatment program for male youth age 13 to 18 who have been placed into state custody.
