East Buntyn Art Walk hits record numbers in its 10th year

It was perfect weather Saturday for dozens of residents to showcase their art work in the historic East Buntyn neighborhood.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com)- It was perfect weather Saturday for dozens of residents to showcase their art work in the historic East Buntyn neighborhood.

The 10th annual East Buntyn Art Walk took place Saturday.  The festivities started at St. James Church.

More than 100 artists displayed their work in a bazaar type setting with featured works including watercolors, pottery, jewelry and much more.

Organizers say the event has grown tremendously over the last 10 years.

“We started with 9 artists, and now we’ve grown to 100, and we just like to promote local art, and we also like to promote our neighborhood. In fact, our current neighborhood association president bought her house here in East Buntyn because she came to her very first art walk three years ago,” said Cindie Kelly, one of the organizers of the East Buntyn Art Walk.

The festivities also included a silent auction tent, local music and of course, delicious food.
