MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com)- Many remembered the life of former Memphis News Anchor Donna Davis on Saturday.

Dozens of friends, family and fans showed up to her funeral at New Growth in Christ Christian Center.

Davis died unexpectedly at the age of 47 last Sunday night.  The cause of her death remains unknown.

Those of us who worked with her know she was committed to much more than her career.  She volunteered for countless community organizations and served on the board of the California Institute of Contemporary Art.

“My turkey meatloaf, her rum cake. Great movies, big belly laughs maybe a martini and I’m so thankful to to have had your Saturday before last just to say love you girl,” said Sarah Beth Cohen-Wilcox, Donna Davis close friend.

“She was charismatic, she was loving… She really was a down to earth person,” said Heidi Kuhn, Shelby County Criminal Clerk and a close friend to Donna Davis.

Davis leaves behind a husband and her son Trey, who just completed his Sophomore year in college.
