MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – FedEx is taking another step toward dropping off packages using drones.
The Memphis-based company announced it is working with a company called Wing Aviation LLC to launch drone delivery.
The pilot program is set to take to the air in Virginia in October. Wing representatives say they’ve spent the past 7 years developing a delivery and navigation system to bring packages to homes in minutes. They are now the first drone operator to be certified as an air carrier by the FAA.
