MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com)- The Grizzlies mentoring program spent their Saturday, beautifying a North Memphis community.

The group made up 3 adults and 6 children were seen cleaning up the area at the Carnes Garden and the Decatur Tree Garden.

The 7th and 8th grade students also hosted a can food drive.

“Its important it expose the kids not only to positive role models in their life but also to get them out and do service for the community it’s a way to get them more connected to the city and it’s a way to get them more connected to their teammates in their program,” said Spencer Cash of the Grizzlies Team Mentoring Program.

The team program is designed to help kids make sense of how they fit into the world and create sustained relationships with adults who want them to succeed.
