HAYWOOD COUNTY, Tenn. — Two people were airlifted to the hospital after a crash on I-40 in Haywood County, Tennessee, Wednesday, one of them being a Haywood County Sheriff's deputy.
According to Haywood County Sheriff Billy Garrett, Jr, Deputy Sgt. Dwan Anderson arrived on the scene of another crash around 6 a.m. Wednesday.
Garrett said Anderson parked his patrol car in the emergency lane with the lights on, when a speeding car tried to go around stopped traffic, rear ending the patrol car.
Both Anderson and the driver of the car that hit his car were airlifted to area hospitals with non life-threatening injuries.
Garrett said both are expected to be OK.
